A sextet of tracks these ears would have been much the poorer for not having heard. Mostly from new or imminent releases (Pascal Savy's ravishing warm flood of an EP, Liminal [Feedback Loop], David Wenngren & Christopher Bissonnette's deep journeying, darkly glowing The Meridians of Longitude and Parallels of Latitude [Home Normal] & Illuha's delicate, faintly off-kilter Shizuku [12k]), these intensely textured pieces (which also include Konntinent's epic, shape-shifting Havlíčkův Brod for Fluid Radio & a moving, arcing piece from Greg Haines & Wouter van Veldhoven's predictably fine Three Days of Fever (a recent discovery) & a gloriously unfurling & melding track freshly SoundClouded by Offthesky co-conspirator Darren McClure) underscore the riches artists are still mining from this murky meeting point somewhere between ambient & drone...
Probably no coincidence that at least two of these pieces were mastered by the great Taylor Deupree - Savy's & Wenngren/Bissonnette's: not sure about the Illuha, ironically, though it would hardly be a surprise if it were too...
Update: Taylor confirms Shizuku as another of his.
Konntinent - Havlíčkův Brod [via Fluid Radio]
Pascal Savy - Lying Drifting
David Wenngren & Christopher Bissonnette - A Deceptive and Distant Howl
Greg Haines & Wouter van Veldhoven - On Buildings
Darren McClure - Accidentally on Purpose
Important: LMYE only makes music available that artists/labels have chosen to share freely. Let us know if something here shouldn't be.
